ExxonMobil Delivers First Large-Scale Univolt Transformer Oil in Europe
ExxonMobil has delivered its first large-scale production batch of Univolt™ transformer oil in Europe, marking the commercial rollout of its next-generation transformer oil for electrical infrastructure applications.
According to the company, the new insulating fluid is designed to provide high oxidation stability, supporting longer transformer service life and reduced maintenance requirements. The formulation is also intended to deliver consistent insulation performance through high purity while helping protect transformer assets over extended operating periods.
ExxonMobil stated that the oil contains less than 1 wt% aromatic content and is free of sulphur impurities, characteristics intended to improve worker handling conditions and support equipment integrity.
The company said the product will be supported by its global manufacturing and supply network to ensure availability for utilities, transformer manufacturers (OEMs) and industrial customers.
Commenting on the launch, Alex Bolkhovsky, Global Fluids Marketing Manager at ExxonMobil, said: "With increasing pressure on electrical networks, customers need solutions that enhance reliability, strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce lifecycle costs." He added that Univolt™ transformer oil "is designed to address exactly those needs, supported by the strength of our manufacturing and supply network."
The introduction comes as demand for transformers and insulating fluids continues to grow alongside grid expansion, renewable energy integration and power infrastructure investment.
