Kajima Poland and Hymon have completed the construction of an 11.6 MW solar PV plant for NGK Ceramics Polska in DÄ...browa Górnicza, Poland. The facility will generate 11,600 MWh of renewable energy annually, supporting NGK's manufacturing operations and carbon neutrality goals.

The project features approximately 20,000 photovoltaic panels spanning 51,000 square meters and includes two transformer stations and an MV substation to efficiently convert and distribute the generated power. Kajima Poland, part of Kajima Europe, managed the design, permitting, and construction process, while Hymon was responsible for the supply and installation of panels, inverters, and supporting structures.

Maciej Runkiewicz, President of Kajima Poland, emphasized the project's technical challenges, particularly the rocky ground conditions, which required customized construction techniques. By refining the foundation strategy, the team reduced the number of drilled holes by over 80%, cutting both costs and construction time.

Hymon CEO Grzegorz Rutkowski highlighted the critical role of transformers and power infrastructure in ensuring efficient energy conversion and distribution. With 55 experienced engineers involved, Hymon successfully navigated tight deadlines and complex terrain to complete the project. Since 2011, Hymon has delivered over 80,000 solar installations, advancing Poland's transition to renewable energy.

The new solar power plant and transformer stations will enhance NGK Ceramics Polska's energy efficiency, reinforcing Poland's shift toward sustainability and energy independence.
