1,000 kV UHV transmission project goes online in Xiongan

4 Jun 2019

SHIJIAZHUANG, CHINA - The 1,000 kV ultra-high voltage power transmission project that runs between Xiongan and Shijiazhuang in north China's Hebei Province has gone into operation after a 72-hour trial period.

The project is a key state grid project that will ensure a 100-percent clean energy supply to the Xiongan New Area, reports Xinhua Net.

The construction on the $500 million project began in March 2018. The line passes four cities and 13 counties and districts in Hebei.

The project has been connected with multiple ultra-high voltage power transmission projects in north China, so that clean energy generated in other areas can be transmitted to Xiongan.
